Building a Future Through STEM and Innovation with Tristan Anderson

Driven by his passion for robotics, drones and STEM, Tristan Anderson is building a future focused on innovation and impact. During his time as a PartnerTulsa STEM intern, he connected his interests in technology and community service, gaining perspectives on the opportunities available in Tulsa. Tell us a little about your background. What experiences or interests have shaped your path, and what are your goals for the future?

My interests in robotics and drones have pioneered my path to higher education and employment opportunities around Tulsa. My aspirations include attending the Thayer School of Engineering and getting a degree in mechanical engineering. I want to continue inspiring people with my future inventions and ideas.

What’s your connection to Tulsa? What inspired you to pursue an internship with PartnerTulsa?

My deep affection for STEM and volunteering connect me to Tulsa. These two pieces of my identity converged when I was offered a position at PartnerTulsa. Two of my favorite passions in one opportunity—how could I resist?

What has been your biggest takeaway from your internship experience? Is there a particular lesson, project or moment that stands out? 

I think the culmination of moments has been the most impactful because from every outreach, I have further solidified the vision I have for my future.

If someone were visiting Tulsa for the first time, what’s one local favorite or hidden gem you’d make sure they didn’t miss?

I’d be sure to show them around the Philbrook Museum of Art. Their exhibits are always amazing.
