What is your role at PartnerTulsa? How do you support PartnerTulsa’s mission to drive economic growth for the city?
I am the Real Estate Development Project Manager at PartnerTulsa. I look at my role as one that helps ensure that we deliver on all of our promises to the community, by seeing all of our real estate projects through from the beginning to the end while also anticipating any roadblocks or hiccups that could delay the process.
Recently you represented PartnerTulsa at BakerTilly’s DevelUp Conference. Can you tell us about that?
The BakerTilly DevelUp Conference is a national conference that focuses on building an equitable economic development ecosystem through real estate development. I went on behalf of PartnerTulsa to better understand the current market conditions and to seek out potential synergies and partners that could benefit Tulsa and some of the initiatives we are trying to push forward.
Why did you join the PartnerTulsa team? What do you enjoy most about your role?
I joined PartnerTulsa in hopes of pairing my expertise in real estate with my passion for community development. What I enjoy most about my role is the endless opportunities to really make a tangible long-term positive impact on the community.
What current PartnerTulsa project are you most excited about and why?
The project that I’m most excited about is the development of the Greenwood Entrepreneurship at Moton, in particular the remaining land that surrounds it. It is an opportunity to bring a new multi-family development to North Tulsa, an area that hasn’t seen new multi-family development in more than 30 years.
How does your work at PartnerTulsa support the Tulsa Housing Strategy?
Tulsa is in need of more than 12,000 housing units and the majority of my work revolves around housing development and thinking of intentional ways to decrease that number through meaningful real estate development.
What are some current industry trends in real estate development that you’re interested in?
Lately I’ve been very interested in the ‘Social Impact Real Estate Investing’ philosophy that some developers have been practicing. It is interesting to see the creative ways developers are approaching projects with a ‘people first’ mentality while also prioritizing returns for investors.
What is your favorite place to visit or thing to do in Tulsa?
My favorite places to visit are probably Vintage Wine Bar or Conquer Fitness. I like to workout and would like to think of myself as a wine connoisseur after my recent trip to Italy!
Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
I used to be in a juggling club when I was younger, and I would perform all across Rockford, Illinois.
